  Srimati Gangineni Kalyani Government Degree College (SGK GDC) wasestablished in the year 1980. It was established to cater the higher educational needs of the marginalized sections of the society in and around Vinukonda region. National Service Scheme (NSS) has been an active wing in the college. Since inception, NSS has been instrumental in interlinking the college with the adjacent society through various extension and outreach activities such as literacy campaign, clean and green programme, celebration of various days of importance, awareness programmes, etc.

 

       SGK GDC has adopted Chatragaddapadu Village, Vinukonda Mandal.Chatragaddapadu is the birth place of Padma Bhushan Sri Gurram Jashuva, a renowned Telugu poet. Every year our college conducts various activities in Chatragaddapadu. As a result, our college maintains an integral relationship with the people of Chatragaddapadu village. Dr. K. Jayaraju, Lecturer in English, was the NSS Programme Officer of our college. Under his leadership our NSS unit has performed effectively. Unfortunately, Dr. K. Jayaraju has died in May, 2019, due to renal failure. Therefore, Sri G. Yugandhar, Lecturer in Political Science, has been nominated as the Programme Officer from June, 2019, onwards.
