S.G.K.Government Degree College, Vinukondaa formed the Consumer Club with the intention to make aware the students about consumerism and to disseminate the information gained among their fellow students as well as the people living in their respective locality. Consumer Club is a consumer forum of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Consumer Club of our college is established for the purpose of spreading the awareness about consumer rights amongst all consumer segments and to help consumers get justice when affected. The club works on the motivational zeal of consumer groups and also on creating awareness among students at very young age and through them the general public. To enable students understand fundamental rights of citizen and make them realize and learn the fundamental duties of a good citizen. The students equip themselves for teamwork and whole heartedly help the consumers in upholding their rights and Duties.

Enable students understand the rights for consumers   as well as  redressal mechanism to get redressed their grievances as consumer.

Mission

• To spread awareness on consumer rights amongst all consumer segments to students.
• To enable students to understand the consumer rights  
• To inject knowledge and skills relating to consumer rights among our college students and to impart knowledge on product standards, product quality and about markets.
• To make them aware of laws enacted for protection / welfare of consumers and enforcement authorities concerned.

• Celebration of National Consumers Day On 24^th Dec. every year.
• Guest Lecture on Consumer Rights and Responsibilities by a Famous lawyer inVinukonda.
• Conducting Consumer Awareness Rally
• Consumer court – visit
• Awareness programs on the Right to Information Act and procedures involved in filing a suit in Consumer Court, Unfair Trade Practices.
• Consumer Club, organizing the “National Consumer Day” on 24th December, every year  in our College. In connection with that various competitions such as Essay Writing, Oratorical, were conducted. The prizes were distributed to the winners on the occasion of National Consumer Day Celebration, organized by Consumer Club, at, Seminar Hall of S.G.K. GDC. Vinukonda.
